Hi everyone, it has been some time since I updated the blog.

Anyway, I hired a professional miniature sculptor to sculpt one of my dream models based on the Warhammer online artwork. I have been really busy with commission work in the past few months, but they are done now and I have a bit of free time to paint this beast.

I'm not sure about the photo, it turns out differently from viewing it in person. It looks like the wyvern has eaten a tankful of cheetos with those orange shade on the wings. Wanted to add the dusty barrens color on the wings.

And it is done.

This was a hard nut to crack. First off the plasticard conversion was built as I progress. So there wasn't really a concept sketch of it at all. Overall I'm pretty happy with the results especially the Arachnarok's color.

I'm thinking of doing something smaller scale in the future, these large projects are weighting me down.

Chaos Brushes is about to hit 40,000 views. I am very happy and I thank everyone that has been visiting my blog. 40,000 is a special number for Warhammer and I intend to create something cool for everyone.

It will be a small diorama with the Ork looted Arachnarok smashing through some Catachans. The setting is in Catacha, so I will include jungle tress and assorted flora.

What a BLAST!

And when I say a blast I mean like 5 Apocalyptic Explosions during the Apoc game! Although my Stompa Mob did nothing except being blown to bits by Imperial Navy, the Mek Stompa Mob did fling some vehicles and cause casualties with rokkits flying everwhere.

In all an epic battle as you can expect.

On the subject of Golden Kris, I manage to nab gold for the Single and Large categories, silver for Squad. Plus the Looted Deffknight got voted for People's Choice & got a nice cool Legio cap too.

I would like to give a massive thanks to the organisers + Jeff & Chang for the delicious BBQ chicken, corn and potatoes!

Truly this is the best wargaming hobby experience!

These will be the Chosens for my Khorne army. I wanted them as hired mercenary group so I have decked them out with gear. They are inflitrators after all and the 'Splinter Cell' helmets are one of my favs.

You folks remember the plastic Daemon Prince I was working on? Well I went back and did some minor conversions to it, most notably a head swap. As the plastic kit has really ugly looking Daemon faces I used a defiler head instead.

Also note the base is from my old metal Daemon Prince.

The Chosens of Khorne ('The Expendables')

The only 5 Khorne Bezerkers that survives Kharn's berserk fury of killing his own units. Khorne gaze upon the 5 survivors and bestow gifts to them.

Each a monstrous roaring weapon, one was given the privilege of carrying the Standard of Apocalypse. The imagery of the standard bears no form, but an ever changing flow of shifting skulls. The Blood Angels finest, a Sanguinary Guard is cruelly decapitated and displayed on the tip of the banner as a grim reminder of all who challenges the Chosens of Khorne.

These 5 units are meant for a local tournament that I will be participating. It is a house rule unit and without further ado I started working on them.

I thought up of a concept and came to a conclusion that the following must be added:

-Massive...massive melee weapons.
-A standard bearer that really stands out.
-Overall a theme that fits the army but borderline bombastic.

Here is the WIP of the models. *Note the banner tip was later replaced with a dead Sanguinary Guard, which is more cooler anyway.*

I have just been landed an epic commission. The model, a Tiamat dragon from the D&D universe.

A picture of the scale comparision compared to a Space Marine is shown and a pic of the D&D illustration of the dragon.

Sanguinor was a tough cookie to paint. Also my first go at a large surface of gold NMM, followed the White Dwarf tutorial. I wanted his blade to match the Sanguinary Guards so I painted it darker.

In all a fun model to paint and a brilliant sculpt. I will begin working on the Sanguinary Guard tutorial tommorow.

They are done. And boy were they hard to paint, especially the wings. I had to paint each feather so the wings will look smooth. I went for a darker more thinned down gold.

My favourite being the Glaive Encarmine, I had great fun painting the power weapons. In all, this is a tough kit to tackle. The models are cram with loads details and blood drop jewels.

Yes... the lure of Chaos is strong! I am starting a new army.

God of choice: KHORNE

I'm not a big fan of metal models. So I'm aiming for a plastic/resin 1750 army.

Here's a shot of 3 Obliterators I converted out of Chaos Termies, Possessed and Corpse Cart bitz.

And Kharn himself! I am not a fan of the metal model, it's old and the pose is pretty basic. I did a bit of modelling using Ork, Chaos Marines and Kharn himself to add a bit of spice.

Stay tune for more skulls, blood and more SKULLS! Khorne wants 1 million skulls, and he WANTS his skulls!

I have placed a big order of Forgeworld stuff, so expect WE Terminators, Khorne Daemon Prince and Land Raider doors.

The Angry Marines Command Squad

The time has come...

From the dread battlefields of the 41st Millennium countless battles are fought. Legions of elite Space Marines purge the galaxy in the name of the Emperor.

Yet there is one chapter that is feared among the stars. It is The Angry Marine Chapter. So angry they are that even the Chaos Gods tremble in thier might.

But it is not just the legions of Angry Marines that is feared most. Amongst the elite of the Chapter is the retinue of Lord Commander Badass. The rage of Khorne is only a tiny fraction of the anger the Angry Marines Command Squad unleashes on the battlefield.

This is a parody of the movie 300. After watching the show, and several YouTube videos of 'This is Sparta' remix. I decide to make a 'lol' model of him. With a grasp of Angry Marines knowledge I went to work.

My name is Carl Lum and I am a miniature painter. I live in Malaysia where Games Workshop products and modelling supplies are not readily available and hard to find. Yet despite these drawbacks I had great fun searching the necessary items to produce miniatures that I so desire.

I started painting minatures at the age of 13. My first model was a Tamiya German Halftrack, painted mostly by my father :p. It's still being displayed on my cabinet and everytime I look at it it makes me happy to be able to pick up miniature painting as a hobby.

I love Country, Classic and Jazz.

In this blog I will begin my journey of miniature painting, creating tutorials and give tips and tricks to achieve certain painting objectives.
